This project involved renovation of and partial redesign of an existing 20,000 sf school building into a new charter school. The process involved many months (years, in fact) of work with local building and zoning authorities in addition to meetings with the local school board and interested citizens to get approval for this first charter school in the U-46 School District. In addition to those hurdles, this charming, wooded campus has historic significance to the city and has had many proposals for renovation and reuse.
